The article analyses sonification technologies used in artistic projects focused on the use of plants. Recalling the history of the development of the biofeedback concept in sound works circa 1970s, the article discusses the human–object relationship in the context of ethical practices conducted in laboratories and in art spaces. The author focuses on the process of establishing a human–plant relationship, in order to inspect what qualities are given to an organism to consider a plant as a partner of communication.
