Redefining the perception of the body in media discourse — body positivity and body neutrality

Abstract

Body positivity and body neutrality are social phenomena manifestations which have been visible in the media discourse for several years. In Polish social media, body positivity and body neutrality gained significant popularity, despite the short history of fat activism. The present article attempts to outline the elements of definition and origin of fat activism, body positivity, and body neutrality, at the same time being a pretext for reflection on the Polish translation and a review of individual Polish publications.
