The latest issue of the academic journal Neerlandica Wratislaviensia edited by dr hab. Agata Kowalska-Szubert and dr hab. Bożena Czarnecka contains 12 articles written by both Polish and Dutch/Flemish academics specialized in the field of Netherlandic Studies. The research topics discussed in the articles are various: linguistics (Frieda Steurs, Beata Popławska, Wilken Engelbrecht and Kateřina Křížová, Zuzanna Czerwonka-Wajda, Jan Fabry, Pavlína Knap-Dlouhá), teaching and learning of foreign languages with special focus on the Dutch language (Mikołaj Buczak), and widely understood Dutch culture (Marlou de Bont, Bas Hamers). Besides that the issue also features two review articles (Bożena Czarnecka, Judyta Kuznik) presenting publications related to the colonial past of the Netherlands and Belgium. This latest volume of Neerlandica Wratislaviensia proves that the Dutch language remains a current research tool, despite the offensive of the English language in humanities research in the Netherlands.
