The paper represents atypological derivational and semantic analysis of the words with interfixes in Serbian from aviewpoint of the modern Slavic derivatology. The author analyses the number and nature of the interfixes as aderivational formant, productivity of derivational models according to which the words are derived by means of interfixes as well as the characteristics of derivational and semantic types of these words in the Serbian language. The analysis shows that the models with all three interfixes: o/e-, -i- and the zero interfix -ø- are very productive in the contemporary Serbian language. The most productive is the model with the interfix -o/e-, then the model with the interfix -i- and the model with the zero interfix ø-. From the viewpoint of derivational types, all words can be transparent compounds and compound-derivative words. The most numerous are nouns, then adjectives, whereas there is aproportionally small number of verbs, and only few adverbs. The derivational bases of these words are mostly nouns, adjectives and verbs. As regards the compound-derivative words, the most productive is the model of a combination of interfixes and suffixes the combination of interfixes and prefixes characterises only the derivation of some verbs.
