Adjectival modifiers promoted
The author describes an interesting process of promoting adjectival modifiers to the status of an independent noun phrase. Today this process is characteristic of the colloquial standards of some Slavic languages; its past productivity is reflected in numerous toponyms throughout the Slavic territory.
