The history of the journal

The magazine has been published continuously since 1969. Its creator and founder was Professor Marian Jakóbiec. Subsequently, the functions of the chief editors were carried out by Professors: Franciszek Sielicki, Telesfor Poźniak, Milica Jakóbiec-Semkowowa. During the 50 years of its existence, "Slavica Wratislaviensia" has evolved from the local magazine, presenting the scientific achievements of Wrocław's Russian philology into a magazine open to all Slavists who represent both national and foreign academic centres.

The bibliography of the archival journal content can be found on the website of the Institute of Slavic Studies of the University of Wroclaw: http://ifs.uni.wroc.pl/czasopismo-slavica-wratislaviensia.

Currently, at least two numbers of the journal of variable volume are published yearly. The volume of thematic notebooks - „Great themes of culture in Slavic literatures" and "Expression and sentence in Slavic languages" - is greater than the average volume of the number.
