Typology of formal, semantic and functional-communicative phenomena of the vocative

Abstract

Formal-grammatical, semantic and functional-communicative phenomena of the vocative are considered with the defining of directions and tendencies of the power and volitional con-straints of formal-grammatical vocations, the establishment of the ratio of scientific and systemic realizations of the vocative, ascertaining the status of the inner-case opposition of the vocative to other case forms. Characteristics of the primary semantic-syntactic function of the addressee — the potential recipient of the action of the vocative in its relation to the secondary — neutral-ized recipient and identifier — confirms its belonging to the core of the appellative and volitional functional-communicative field. The narrowing and / or the expansion of individual inflexions of the vocative reflect the main tendencies of evolution of the grammatical order of the Ukrainian language.
