Published: 30-11-2022

Volume 33 of Neerlandica Wratislaviensia edited by Stefan Kiedroń, is a jubilee issue for professor Norbert Morciniec, a Germanist and ‘Neerlandist’ who is still active, the founder of Polish Dutch studies and the founder of this journal, on the occasion of his 90th birthday. The authors of the texts (literary, linguistic and cultural) are his friends and students from Poland, the Netherlands, Flanders, the Czech Republic and Germany: Andrzej Borowski, Wilken Engelbrecht, Ewa Jarosińska, Irena Barbara Kalla, Jerzy Koch, Agata Kowalska-Szubert, Erik-Jan Kuipers, Karel Porteman, Muriel Waterlot and Jos Wilmots. Topics range from the seventeenth-century reception of Stanislaus Kostka to the nineteenth-century Moravian Brothers in South Africa, the Holocaust in children's literature and contemporary narrative analysis and synthesis in literary history writing; from whether Dutch is threatened today, to Dutch lexicography, syntax, morphology and translatology or metaphorical patronymics. There are also texts on the work of Maarten 't Hart (Hans Beelen), on Congolese literature (Bożena Czarnecka) and on Dutch protest songs (Joanna Skubisz). The set concludes with the jubilee's recollections of the beginning of his research and a list of his publications.
