Abstract

Phraseological derivation in Polish and Serbian

The paper presents aconcept of phraseological derivation based on the Polish and Serbian languages. The term “phraseological derivation” means all derivational processes involving phraseological units — as incentived or/and motivated elements. The article shows ageneral breakdown of the types of phraseological derivation according to the formal shape of the element of derivational series, according to the method of construction of phraseological derivatives, and according to their semantic and functional characteristics.
