Volume XXVII (2019) of the journal Estudios Hispánicos, edited by Maria Boguszewicz (University of Warsaw) and Justyna Ziarkowska (University of Wrocław) brings together, in its main part, 17 scientific articles by Polish and foreign Hispanists (Spain, Czech Republic, Italy, Portugal, Croatia, Ukraine) grouped in three thematic blocks. The first block includes papers devoted to the relations of the cultures of minority languages of the Iberian Peninsula (Catalan, Galician, Basque) and their oral tradition, which has become a safeguard enabling them to protect their own character in the context of mass communication. The second block is composed of articles on Spanish-American literature, especially in its relationship with European culture, and the third block is of a miscellaneous nature. The volume also contains six scientific reviews and a chronicle of events from the Polish milieu of Spanish Studies (a scientific farewell to Professor Florian Śmieja, eminent Hispanist, doctor honoris causa by the University of Wrocław and an account of the tribute to International Hispanism organized at the Royal Palace, following the invitation of King Philip VI, in which participated three Hispanists linked to our journal.
